I don't expect Nikon d7000 to be a better camera than k5 since it is 400 dollars cheaper than k5. Actually, D7000's performance should not even get close to k5. People don't pay 400 more for nothing.

I don't have a problem with what he mentions in the video. We all know about this and he is just reiterating it. But I wonder why he repeats himself so often. He did it a number of times in the K-5 vs D7000 video, and does it again here. It's almost like he wants to emphasize the problem and persuade viewers to agree with what he thinks about it without actually saying it. I don't think he should do that.

wow $400 cheaper than K5? D7000 FTW! (But i'm still gonna get the K5 due to reason below and I have the FA43 to make magic)

Over here D7000 are more expensive than the K5.

Aren't Nikon made in Thailand? Even though I am Thai but born and raised here in the states, I wouldn't buy anything made from my native country. As my america side of me would say, that guy in the video is a douch bag.

I dun really believe that guy. I myself am using a k5 and got a two other friends using nikon d7k. Both my friends are quite impress by the colour rendition and solid contruction of the camera. So to me, its just a matter of preferences. Since both of them are using the same sensor, just choose which ever you like and be done with it...

I'd like a D7000 simply because I have some Nikon glass I'd like to use on it. But looking at the Nikon forums, I note there's at least as much wailing and gnashing of teeth over focusing problems in low/artificial light as there is with the K5. And I'm reluctant to reward Nikon for, unlike Pentax, making their cheaper bodies incompatible with many of their best lenses (I have a D40, and my Nikon glass won't meter on it, but will on my K7).

What puzzles me about differences between the two is, if they're using the same sensor, how does the K5 manage to get so much better ratings for high ISO and wider dynamic range than the D7000?

From the gist of the tones, it would appear that canon labs is doing quality assurance testing for pentax free of charge.

I have to say I like my K-5.

Could it be he has a sponsorship with Nikon and it is his way of supporting that? Maybe he wants more sponsors and Pentax said "no".

I noticed some ticker ads at the bottom of the videos.

Notice how this dude repeats his points two or three times in the first video. He doesn't have much to say about the differences. He says the D7000 beats it in low light but, by how much, about 1% if that? You are not going to notice it. I just posted some shots I just took with my K-5 with the autofocus on at flickr here:

Flickr: Andrew Dale Richardson's Photostream

Yes the autofocus could be a little faster for shots such as the last three I posted today on flickr. I tend to keep my finger on the shutter release button and the camera on continuous focus when I am panning or tracking a fast subject and then fire when they are in my optimal range.

I was reading somewhere on this forum that Pentax has a patent where the shake reduction helps the autofocus.

It also seems to me the autofocus hunts less with the K-5 than with the K-7. It does jump and jerk slightly when I am trying to stabilize it on a target when there are things around my subject that may confuse the autofocus. I can't fault anyone for that.

I cannot track my children either. They are senior and junior in highschool, teenagers, so go figure! I am going to have to buy the Nikon to see if that is true.
