And the winner (with 85 days) is ...

sterretje

OK, got the call this afternoon. It was hand delivered half an hour later at my house by the local agent and stain free.

Just checked the papers; handed it in on the 14th of december; issue confirmed by local repair on the 15th of december with the message that it had the stain issue and it would be replaced.

From wednesday 15th of december till thursday 10th of march is 12 weeks plus 1 day or 85 days.

Now i tested my camera for stains and there are no stains on it. But i will check for stains at least under the warranty period.

10 minutes in SRS in the UK. Well actually nearer an hour because we talked lenses, bags and tripods. I did manage to get a couple of nice Nikon lens hoods for my 50 f/1.2 and a genuine 52mm reverse k adapter for a £10 That was in December before the whole thing blew up and I exchanged because of focussing issues not stains.

Ok.... well my new K-5 finally arrived.

>> 44 days <<

It's a 394xxxxx serial number so I am a bit skeptical. I will be checking it closely this weekend (including mfg date and shutter count) and, if issue free, will hold onto it. Stinks though that its still in the "suspect" serial number range.

Just hope Pentax gave these replacements a thorough going over.

Mike

Lopullinen aika oli 43 päivää, kun K-5 tuli. Sarjanumero oli 4007xxx. Ei yhtään tahroja ja muutenkin päällisinpuolin hyvä.

Got my replacement yesterday: old serial number 3874xxx, new serial number 4073xxx. It took five weeks. I think I might have been unlucky because this has probably been the peak period for returns and bodies were in short supply. At least my supplier (Warehouse Express in the UK) did their best to keep me informed. Not knowing what's going on can be the most frustrating part of the whole process.

Good luck to everyone who's still waiting.

Chris
