I agree! Doing that to a K-5 is just plain wrong on so many levels.
Aye, it is like breaking wind in an elevator.

TBH I don't mind the colours, its the effect on the lines of the body that doesn't work, a squarer garnet form should have been applied.

Oh if you start a thread later on the failure of the flash, serves you right.

I am living in Japan and I have to tell you Hello Kitty is massive here. Well its Japanese so I guess it figures. Its big with the girls. They hang alot of Hello Kitty paraphernaila off their mobile phones and decorate them in various Kitty oriented themes so it goes without saying a designer Kitty camera would be a smash hit here. Absolutely no doubt about it. Write to Pentax with your idea, send them a pic and you never know. Sorry KLSMpls.

LOL - they already know - they took a picture of my camera :-)

The camera was also popular on the Hello Kitty page on Facebook - after posting a photo of the camera there I was inundated for weeks with people wanting to tag themselves onto the photo :-)

I could see an Hello Kitty Q model before a K-5... the Q seems to be ideal for the young Japanese female demo.

Otis loves the Hello Kitty...and says his opinion is all that really matters, but he did ask if it is edible? If so, he would like a dozen of them.
Regards!

I actually tried to trick the logo print on my K-x out in Pentax red Swarovsky rhinestones and make a little crystal crown on the prism but for the life of me I could not get those crystals to stick no matter what glue I used. How DID you do it? Inquiring minds wanna know!!!! I'd love to be able to do it finally. I wanted to do it and surprise everybody but it was just an epic fail. I spent a day doing it, three times, only to have the crystals drop off again and again...

I'm personally not a big fan of jazzed-out cameras, but great for you that you were able to incorporate one thing that you love into another.
Have fun shooting!

Also, where were you able to purchase a colored leather Pentax strap? I've been looking for something similar...

I agree, I think that would sell very well in Asia.

Thanks for the link - it does look really good!

I have been considering the Q on and off ever since it was released, but the main downside for me is the slow raw write times - it apparently writes uncompressed raws - I keep hoping Pentax would fix this in a firmware update but so far they havent.

I have now Hello Kitty'ed my pink Nikon J1, which is even cuter (its amazing how many people comment on the camera when I use it).
