Okay, I am going to buy one, but from where?

Okay, I admit it, I am horrible at making decisions. I have been waiting and waiting for the k5 to go to $1399 and first I couldn't decided if I should go for it or wait a couple more weeks to see if it dropped any farther. Now I have decided to go for it this week but I can't decide who to order from.

It is officially $1389 at B&H and Amazon. I am an Amazon Prime member, so for $3.99 I can have it overnighted to me and then I can be all set with my new camera for this weekend. Adorama still has it for $1399. I am not concerned about the $10, but I like the instant gratification that Amazon offers. Of course, there is is also the option to support the site by going through B&H or Adorama, and I think I would like to be able to call in, so that makes it Adorama, but I won't get it until next week. What to do???

If you need the instant gratification then go with amazon. Otherwise go with b&h

at the rate the price is dropping - two drops totaling $41 in the past week - maybe you should wait a little longer. who knows what the price will be in another week?

I got mine friday, but my biggest dilemma was deciding which lenses to buy!

Only BH and Adorama will get you the free site supporter status, so that's what I'd recommend. BH will ship it tomorrow if you order right now. Congrats on the big decision!

Me too!

I'm also on the point of ordering and it will be from either B&H or Adorama.

I was wondering if we might see some bargains when Pentax replaces the stained sensors in returned cameras and puts them back on the market as refurbished?

Thanks for flagging up our new, exclusive telephone number for PF members 1-800-815-0664 (which for those who don't know, gives the option of calling the order in, but still crediting the site).
Not sure why you are thinking it would take longer to get to you if you order from Adorama; drop me an email if you have a chance: HelenO@adorama.com

I am not so sure about Adorama.

I bought my K5 there and found it very difficult to deal with them regarding the stain problem. They respond very slowly and, to cut a long story short, someone else is handling the claim now!

Every time I have dealt with B&H it has been a pleasure.

Is there an advantage for Europeans, and this site, to buy at Adorama, or B+H?

For Europeans, the price!

For the site - yes; the site receives a payment for every order you place that goes through here eg by clicking on the link beneath my name or beneath Adam's name.
