I have mine set to high but still find I need to touch up the noise in Photoshop as well.

I've found the NR to take away too much details and adding NR artifacts, that I switched all the NR off.
If it somehow irritates me later on, I'll just do NR in post, but I've yet to find any need for it.
Typically, I shoot up to ISO3200 and the occasional 6400.

I think I will leave it off, since some need it and some don't, I can process it and decide which ones do or don't. It is going to depend on a lot of factors other than noise settings anyhow, and being off helps preserve details.
I left this one at 5000 alone, it was not offensive to my eyes. I do realize that some are obsessed with noise....I'm not one of them.
Best Regards!
