Just curious if Canokin's focus the same way? That is a pretty wild swing for fast glass especially. So we need to calibrate the camera in low light and daylight and remember to change the Micro adj. before we shoot? As fairly new to dslr's i aint sure about all this..

Silver is tough to look at. It reminds me too much of the old days. My K1000, ME Super, Super Program, MG, K2..blah blah blah. <sniff> too many faded memories to have a silver body. I would get too attached to a silver body!

It definitely looks different and unique, and I can totally understand why it would strike a chord with many Pentaxians. I also like (more than the color) the idea of a more substantial grip.

However, I still cannot justify the price difference. So, my K-5 is definitely gonna be black...and it's better gonna suit the black ltds that I already have.

I think one should go completely silver with this body. I'm not crazy about combinations.

Now that I've had mine a while, I'll say two things.

I get a ton of compliments on it... "wow, that's a beautiful camera"...

and the grip is AWESOME. I thought it might be too big for me, but it is amazing.

Still probably not exactly worth the extra $$... but I have no regrets.

I usually keep my silver cameras (MX, *istDS, K-5) while sooner or later, I sell off my black ones. So, there is a hidden cost for the Silver editions. And there better is

That is my plan to for my K-5 Silver. While my K-5 Regular goes out the window when the successor is in sight. Aldo I descided to just use my K-5 Silver as a normal camera, si very intensive use.

Yes, I do! If lenses are completely silver or only partly silver, they look better on a silver body. If they are completely black, they look better on a black body.

You can find easily some others, like FA*24/2, 28-70/2.8, 80-200/2.8 or even 300/4.5.
But to find the the rest you have to be patient...
The trouble is prices... actually i have noticed the same +- 30% increase on these lenses, since two years, when Hoya and some other brands increased dramatically their current products prices...

Well an empty pockets is also a problem. I hope that Ricoh brings a DA-version of the 24mm. But then again, I have DA21mm. A Silver 31mm would be nice, but no budget to spend until X-mass.

Hi priority goes to socks and underwear!
