Congrats! I have mine today too! I had a quick feel of the it (the grip is brilliant!) at lunch and the battery is currently charging for when I get in later!

So is the silver part plastic or metal?
Definitely not plastic. It is magnesium.

Awesome! Congratulations!

Is the silver on the camera body a paint or natural color? Does it seem fairly scratchproof?

I can't tell from mine if it's paint or plain metal. It has a slight speckle to it which makes me think it might just be polished metal, but I'm not certain. Either way I love the way it looks with my silver 43 limited. Hoping to find a silver 77 as well and then round it out with the silver DA21.

Sure a classical looking camera! When paired with those beautiful lens, even the Leica crowd is bound to be envious. Enjoy.

Only took a few shots of the family around the house last night, but I must say, this K-5 is one hell of a camera! I keep grinning when I look back at the shots on the LCD. Can't wait to get out with it! Exceptional Pentax!

Good find Frank, and enjoy it.
Now we want to see what the limiteds can do with your K-5.

Thanks guys K5 is the best camera I've used so far, I don't think I'd upgrade to another one anytime soon.

Cheers to all.

It's a nice silver kit...most rare item? The 49mm Pentax filter with the silver ring. My three amigo limiteds are silver but with Pentax black ring filters...so jealous of that hard to find silver filter.

Is that a filter from the silver A50/1.2?

And Frank, I agree the silver K5 is likely to hold a place in my kit for several years too...awesome camera.

Do you still use the LX with film just for fun?
