I bought the ML K-7 guide...

It is a complete waste of money for anyone who have experience with Pentax dSLR. The worst part is - I cannot even use it as a door stopper unless I use my paper & ink to print it out!!
I bought the ML K-7 guide even though I have a K-5 camera. I think that it is fairly helpful, but the Pentax user manual is also a good resource. I liked the idea of having a book to trash rather than the manual, but I have needed to refer to both at times. AFAIK there are very few menu changes between the two cameras, but it was disheartening to buy a guide that wasn't specifically written for the K-5. However, since Pentax camera menus have many similarities, the ML is also somewhat helpful for the K-r as well. All that said, I think that the ML guide could have had better linear organisation and the page layout could have been better. I would grade it about a B.

I looked at the Bourke demo online. I agree that it is nice to have printed material for a guide, but I wouldn't have consider printing it out because of the inconvenience. Kind of a shame because I would have liked to get another author's point of view. Evidently you don't think that it was worth getting anyway though, so I will consider it time and $ worth saved.

I find the K-7 ML guide very useful for my K-5. I also find the Pentax guide useful, in different ways. They're pretty complimentary.
