K5 only $1299 with Free Shipping on Amazon.com

BH Photo changed the price on the K5 from $1299 back to $1399. Luckily,
Amazon has it for $1299 now too

Yes, I couldn't believe it myself. It's still up if anyone wants to jump on it.

And 20% off Kata bags if you purchase one as well.

This is through Amazon and not a 3rd party so it's backed all the way.

Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-K-5-Digital-Black-Body/dp/B0043M6F14/ref=xs_gb_...97S7D6XZ3JW2JJ

Well, your link no longer lists a new K-5 anywhere near the price you paid, but I still pulled the trigger at $1299.- plus $8.- shipping. I suppose I'll be adding a serial number to the database shortly.
Now it is just a matter of waiting, and upon arrival, giving the camera a thorough workout to make sure that all is well with it. I am reasonably confident that it won't disappoint and if there are some hick-ups, I'm sure to find them quickly and deal with them as needed.

I somehow get the feeling that a couple of additional firmware updates are still in the future of this beast.

It was under the "Gold Box Deals' on the main Amazon page. They had it there in the morning for @ $1,349. So, when I came back and checked it later, & saw it at $1,234.95 I jumped on it.

Here was the breakdown on it.

Item Subtotal: $1,299.95
Shipping and handling: $7.35
Gold Box Discount: $-65.00
Shipping Discount: $-7.35
Financing Applied: $0.00
12 Month Financing: $0.00
Promo Financing: $0.00
Total: $1,234.95
Paid by Card: $1,234.95

I got the email last night that it's being shipping UPS & will be here on Wednesday.

I'm hoping there's not much of a learning curve from the K20D.

By the way, did you see if there was a way to get an extend warranty?

2. is the camera under warranty through pentax? where does it come from?
3. are they the version after the stained sensor?

The gold box is an icon on the Amazon home page that looks like a treasure chest.
The K5 deal ended yesterday. You have nothing to worry about when ordering from Amazon.
Returns are easy.

Sorry if my post caused any confusion.

In my post, I put, "It was".

Meaning it no longer, "Is"

I thought there would be a thousand posts on it yesterday, and was surprised to see none. I'm not sure how long it was up there. Some times they last for days. Other times, only a few hours.

As 'Spotmatic' pointed out, Amazon has great prices, and I've never had a problem returning anything from them at all.

Sorry more people didn't get in on it.

Atm, the only way I see getting an extended warranty is thru B&H @ around $20.-
I don't know if you can just buy it separately, or if it needs to be tied to a purchase there, but my gut feeling is that you can get it on its own. I'll have to call them or chat...

Thanks Catalana for the warranty info. I'll be checking around as well to see what I can find & will post it here.

$1299 is not a bad price though, better than alot of places right now. The DA-L 35mm f2.4 also is priced lower too.

Stop that ...I don't want to burden my CC any further. I was able to resist the 10% discount on the 8mm Rokinon Fisheye, and now you have to mention this .

One thing I'm sure of is that you "should/must" buy the extended warranty within 90 days of purchase of the camera.

Check amazon again. I bought the extended warranty for $9.99 from them, through a camera store called photo world.
