Stop Down metering with K-5

Just received my new K-5 and am wondering how to enable stop down metering for use with my M lenses. With the K-7 one set Custom menu item 28 'Green button in TAV and M modes', but there doesn't seem to be a similar setting on the K-5. I'd be grateful for any advice.

Many thanks!

It's in the record menu now. Beyond that, it works the same way as the K7.

See here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-lens-articles/110657-how-use-manua...7-k-x-etc.html

It should be the same option as on the K-5. Then, to meter, just pull the stop-down lever.

Could you explain, "Pull the stop-down lever" I couldn't find it with a search.

Is it on the lens?

Thanks

The lever around the shutter button. It has a position where is stops down the lens (if the appropriate menu setting is set to optical preview).

You can also hit the green button in M exposure mode if you want to meter and have the camera set shutter speed and aperture accordingly.

Jeff,

Thanks, ubih but I'm not sure what the 'record' menu is.

Adam et al. I'll follow your lead, but is it possible to use the Green button system rather than the lever, which I got used to on my K=7?

Many thanks

Just to clarify things a bit...

The Green button, in M, centers the meter by stopping the lens down for a period and setting the exposure time. Using the Stop down lever (AKA Optical Preview), with an M lens in M mode, will activate the meter and show it in the viewfinder. With an A type lens (F,FA,DA, etc) the meter is active for the length of time you choose to leave it active (mine is set for 30 seconds).
