Congrats on the camera...and it's normal, the price gap isn't so big yet..here for 200 € more you get a K5 instead of a K7...(i'm waiting for the real price drop).

I just bought a K-5 too, so next week I'll be jumping on the K10-K5 learning curve.

@ndy4eva where did you buy yours from; is that with a U.S. warranty?

It feels like it takes forever to charge the battery.

Indeed it's a longer charge than that of the K10D/K20D D-LI50 battery, but it's worth it.

I have only one doubt. When I look across the mirror it seems a bit dark. I mean it looks like looking through sunglasses. Is it normal? It seems like the viewfinder in fumé

Oh, what the heck, just buy the thing and sink the cost, you only live ones. Don't deny yourself some serious pleasure. This denial is not worth a couple of 100 Euros. Don't know if you have a wife, but if you have just tell her you need it for you Bible studies or... well you will come up with something.

Greetings from sunny Melbourne

Go out in the sun with the camera without a lens mounted and see how shiny the mirror is.

As long as it takes a great photo, and is not dark through the viewfinder, then it should be good.

Though if it's definitely dirty/dusty, you'd do well to carefully dry-wipe that mirror clean.

I gotta say, the low-light performance of the K-5 is everything everyone's said. Outside in the full sunlight I'm missing some shots with my zoom, but I think I've got some re-learning to do compared with the K-10. Probably it's my use of the settings because a bird at the feeder may not be in focus but I can get super sharp when taking even hand-held calibration shots and when shooting aircraft flying overhead. The focus there is much faster than the K-10.

We'll see, I've got some more learning to do.
