In my case, I have already prepared my wife for the inevitable, I'm still trying to justify it myself.

It will be the last camera I'll ever want, right?

Yes, until the next body comes along and you're on the forum reading up on all the amazing things users are doing with it...

Funny, that's what folks said when I got the K20D. Had no reason to move until the K-5 (and it's worth it!).

(BTW, nice sig pics Ash!)

Why not buy a K-5 and put a K-7 sticker on it?!

I bought my K-5 just months after I bought my K-7, but I do have an understanding wife, as long as I bought a K-5 for her, too!

Hi Bob,
I have just committed to K5 on that basis. I haven't retired yet, but will mid 2012.
In 50 years I have owned only 4 SLRs, the last being an *ist DS which is now on loan to a newbie just testing the SLR water for herself. Cameras 2 and 3 lay idle for long periods because of the cost of raising a family/cost of film & developing and lack of opportunities. With my history of hanging on to gear for long periods I have no doubt that my eyes will not outlast the K5 (accidents and felonies excepted!).
