Pentax K5 for Stock Photography

I'm expecting that after all of the rave reviews of the Pentax K5, describing how it is beating all of the other main popular brands professional camera systems that it is going to be suitable for high quality stock photography. Does anybody know if it is excluded from what are regarded to be acceptable camera lists from stock image library companies such as Getty and the like?

What are your thoughts?

Getty has a list of approved cameras while other stock photo places do not (iStockPhoto and Big Stock)

Getty lists the following as approved:
Canon EOS: 1D(Mk1,2&3), 1DS(Mk1,2,2n&3) 5D, 30D and 40D
Nikon: D2X, D2Xs, D3, D200, D300
Leica M8
All medium format backs

I would guess that list is used more to weed out amateurs. Sponsored Pentax pros have discussed shooting stock for Getty using the K-7 and K-20, so I don't think I'd worry too much about their list, just worry about the quality of your images.

That list is not the most up-to-date one. For example, even the Leica X1 point and shoot is approved by Getty for image submissions now, as is the K-7 if I recall, the Sony A900, and even stuff like the Olympus E-3.

Unfortunately Getty have their full list behind a registration system now, so it is hard for me to find an up-to-date list without $##@!! registering with them.

30v iPentax......Not really sure what you said, but it was really funny!

I guess you mean the camera takes very great pictures. Aided by yourself and a tub of honey?

My sister has shots stock for Getty for quite a while and she used an Olympus DSLR. I'm not sure if there requirements change over time or whatnot, but if memory serves, it wasn't an issue.

+1
Cameras nowadays can do whatever you need. Before the K-5, the only weakness was chroma noise in the shadows, and most stock images are fairly brightly lit, so you'd never hit it...
