I'd rather have a K-5 and less lenses than a K20D and more lenses. In fact that's exactly what happened. I sold a bunch of lenses to help fund one of my K-5s.

K-x with more than one lens for sure.

You can upgrade the body later when it decreases in price. Lenses don't.

I'll be trying out a K-5 next week, but I'm pretty sure I'll wait on buying it.

K-5 (BUT) keep the 10-20 or like me you'll be very sorry you gave up such a fun lens. And on the K-5 it would rock. Saddest day for me was letting go of the 10-20 to "justify" the K-7 (at the time).

Personally, the K-5 first - BUT something to consider is Pentax glass seems to be increasing in price, while if you wait a bit, the K-5 price may drop, especially if a bunch of refurbished units hit the market. Just something to think about if you're trying to get the most out of your dollar.

While I agree that the k-x is good enough for most people. However, after getting the k-7 (and having used the k100D and K10D), the degree of control and experience is so vastly improved that it would be tough for me to go back, even the K10D. If you like the k-x, the k-5 with the viewfinder (penta prism), the TAv mode, the two dials, the dedicated focus light, the top LCD, the dedicated iso button, the exposure mode dial etc. will be more attractive. And on top of that the WR body.... you will enjoy photo taking even more...

if what you enjoy doing is taking pictures, a, if you want to satisfy equipment lust, b. you seem to know what lenses you want, so i think it sounds a lot like a. get the k-5 only if it offers something you really need, or you have the disposable income to blow on it and it's a "what the hell, life's short" kind of thing. but only get it after you have the lenses you want. if you need weather sealing, better ergonomics, etc, look for a second hand k20d or k-7, the market is going crazy because of the k-5.

k20d: i have both k20d and k-5. i still love my k20d. don't blow things out of proportion. the k20d is still a great camera, and the k-x too, especially with good lenses on it as opposed to a k-5 with a kit lens on it.

I'd buy the K5 and then buy used lenses on the marketplace as you can afford them.

I am typically one to say glass first, body second. I skipped the K7 and I still have my K20, but in this case the K5 will really take your photography to a new level - kind of like a great piece of class will.

Also, if you can I would keep the 10-20. It is a unique lens that you will have a lot of fun with on the K5.

Not in disagreement with you; just wondering how D7000 meters without any information from the lens (complete manual). Unless of course, you mean manual lens with A setting.

Seems odd to me that people are encouraging me to keep the Sigma 10-20 instead of the DA 70mm. Yeah the 10-20mm is fun, but I'm not a big fan of the IQ : / Maybe my copy? I was hoping the DA 15mm was better and that I could eventually get one of those later down the line (or the 12-24mm).

to answer your question asked I go with (B) option. But I also second the idea that lens is the primary asset while body goes secondary.

IMO I would not go with wide-zoom, but that's my point with all the respect to respectable wide-zoom users. If going zoom I'd 1st go with normal zoom (I'm a happy user of 15 lim, 28-80/2.8 and 28-70/2.8 tokinas, a couple of manual normal primes and smacking my lips to break a piggy bank for 200 star)

I recently got my K-5, I also have a Kx. One reply to your question mentioned you already get great ISO with the Kx. After shooting with the k5 for a bit, I realized that I had no clue what really great ISO was - to sum it up, there is really no comparison that can be made between the iso performance between the two - the k5 iso blows the kx out of the water, by a long shot.

My recommendation would be for you to check out the two threads here on the forum - the "kx picture/best shot thread" and the "k5 picture/best shot thread", you will choose the k5 option after after seeing and comparing those two threads...
