question about sdhc card

Hello community!
I just bought a Pentax K-5, I also bought a 16GB Transcend SDHC class 10. I have a question:
Whenever I take a picture it takes few seconds to preview in the lcd screen.
I have a Canon 7d also and the preview is instant.
Is this normal for Pentax? or is the card? What is the best card to use?
Not a big problem just wondering.
Thanks.
Mr. Leon

It could be lens correction being turned on or noise reduction depending on the iso. You can turn these off and get instant results.

Yes that fixed the delay. Now I have to study the manual. I am enjoying this little camera. I am very impressed so far.
Thanks for your help.

You have to get used to having with K-5 a slower camera then Canon's 7D in sence of processing.

How so? Do you have some numbers to support this claim?

And realize that some older computers will not read from SDHC cards. You will have to connect the camera to the computer with the supplied usb cord or buy a very inexpensive usb SDHC card reader.

I don't think the OP was referring to reviewing the pics on his computer.

I think we was referring more to the time it took for the picture to display on the camera's LCD screen.

Apparently, the problem was solved: It was caused by in-camera processing for lens correction and/or noise reduction:

Well the 7D features a dual Digic 4 processor and K-5 has to do the job with single PRIME II.

When buffer is full K-5 can keep on with 1,2 fps jpg and 7D can do 4,8 fps so it is easy to say that the 7D is faster.

Hello!

I had the same problem as macleon had, with the difference that I had only a Canon 450D. With a SanDiskExtremeIII 8GB Card I could see the preview after a few seconds. With a SanDisk Ultra 15MB/s I had to wait a little bit longer. But I had to wait never so long as with my Pentax K5. Thanks to mrjamesabels I turned now the lens correction off (which I don't need since I take my photos in RAW) and now everything is fine!

Hello!

By the way:
The Canon EOS 450D is in North America the EOS Rebel XSi and in Japan the EOS Kiss X2.

Of course I need the lens correction though I take my photos in RAW. I correct it afterwards with the Pentax Digital Camera Utility.
