how many stopes the latitude of K5 contains?

It is said the latitude of K5 is very good in APC-S. But how many stops the K5 exactly contains? In the dark side and in the bright side?

If you mean how wide the dynamic range is, then the answer is 14.1 EV.

Maybe it is what I mean. 14.1 EV seems so suprising that in commence sense dynamic range in APC is more narrow than it is film.

Common sense is rare, and usually narrow.

Colour Slide films have around four~ five stops tonal range, colour negative films have about twice that range.

If you're clever with your exposure and developing you can cram even more tonal range as the K5 can capture on most slow B&W films though of course printing papers have a much more limited tonal range than that, darkroom printing papers can only typically handle around 8 stops though You can get 10-stops range with certain paper chemistries and specialised developers.

So funny, i was just about to start a thread about how much I'm in love with the K-5 in this regard, and I came across this. I know in a perfect world all of our photos are perfectly exposed. But in the heat of the moment, sometimes you mess up and capture a great moment with a horrible exposure. With the K-5, there's still hope
