I see it was gone after I made a comment about the K-5 DPR 83% Gold Award.

I think it's likely that Amazon 86'ed it, since it was rated so "unhelpful".

I'll have to update my review.

If it gets re-posted you should copy and paste your excellent rebuttal comments. Lucky you have a copy here in this thread.

Like I say in my profile, I've shot Pentax for 30 years, but I think this piling on about one silly review is going over the top.

Apple too has its "fanbois". Not a good place to be.

Hilarious, I read the review 2 hours after it was posted and was wondering what you'd all think. As soon as he started to blame the body for CA I dismissed him as an idiot.

Harmless thread, I think we all enjoyed making fun of wiener. Kind of like a bunch of playground bullies, but fun none the less. It is always funnier when it is someone else.

As others have noted, it's only important when it sits in a public arena like Amazon.

The review was negative - that's acceptable. And my comment included a statement that the K-5 may not be the best choice for everyone.

But the review was negative based on clearly and objectively demonstrable ignorance and/or malice. That is not acceptable.

It was corrected by excision, at least for now, and we can get on to important things. Like whether there is a market for a camera with interchangeable lenses the size of my thumb.

I really don't care what some guy thinks when it is obvious he knows nothing about the K5 or most likely anything else....
I also don't care what he shoots with...if he shoots at all? I have found that even Nikon and Canon shooters feel that they are 3-5 generations behind others that have instituted in body SR. They feel cheated...mainly because they are. Lightning fast focus will never get you this shot with no SR if you are using an unstabilized lens.....and Canon and Nikon shooters know it. We all have many hundreds of shots we got and they didn't.....so how many generations ahead is that? Sure, you can buy expensive stabilized lenses.....but we don't have to. That's Nikon/Canon progress?
Regards!

Amazing shot!!! In camera shake reduction rocks.

Freedom of speech is the best defense against liers

Fish die by their mouth. The bitter comment posted at Amazon is the result of freedom of speech, which I protect. I also believe that if you give someone enough rope, he will hang up himself. This person had a frustration with the wrong element, his photographic gear. He has not realized that his frustration should be with his ability to learn to be a photographer. A visit to the mirror and a long conversation with it, will help this person realize his own shortcomings as a photographer and may be as anything else. I have one example, many years ago, when I was taking classical guitar lessons with a private teacher, I always brought by best guitar (in those days it was a $3500 Ramirez). The guy who took the class one hour before me used a guitar that he bought in a pawnshop for $25. The guy could play ten thousand times better than I did with just few lessons. THat is when I realized it is not the gear, it was ME. I certainly noticed a lower quality in my first photos when compared to the other guys with Nikons. However, I have seen improvement with time and study. At this point, I only dream on buying a K5. This comments made me realize I really want it.

Looks like the online Pentax posse brandishing their torches and pitchforks have successfully forced the ignorant buffoon to leave town for good... lol
