Might sell my K-5

I love my K-5 but I do very little low light shooting, I only have less than 700 shots on it, does anyone know what the going used price is? I don't see many forsale. I am just going to go back to a K-7 I think. I still haven't made my mind up yet. Thanks.

I've seen them for for $1100-$1300. See the sold items section: Sold Items - PentaxForums.com

Depends really on where you live. I usually figure about 15 to 20 percent off of the price of the item new.

Amazing! I have both, but surely use my K-5 much more than my K-7! A K-7 here is next to worthless (my favourite photoshop rates a K-7 as unsellable)!

It usually depends on several factors, and with an expensive body like the K-5 with some known issues, there would be a few additional factors to consider. People are going to want to know if the sensor is free of any stains. Assuming it is, I would say around $1100-1150 would be about the right price as new ones are about 1300-14000 now. If the sensor does have any stain issues, it would probably be to you benefit to have it fixed under warranty before selling it if you want to maximize how much you get for it.

I wouldn't sell a K-5 just because of little low light shooting.

The IQ is much better across all light levels IMO.

Just sayin' L(

K5 selling

It does not have the stain, checked that for sure. Wouldn't consider selling it if there were any issues.

I'm not arguing; I'm just curious.

Are there no other advantages to the K-5 that come into play with your photography? And if not, which may well be the case, what prompted the K-5 purchase if you already had a K-7?

K-5 selling

The K-5 really is a great camera and like one of the other members said it's great not only just for high iso but all around. Faster af etc. Need to really think this over.

Hey, PM me if you decide to sell. I have a K7 and maybe we can work a trade. I might have a lens or two that we can dicuss as well.

Good luck with your decision.

I'd guess $50, maybe $70 on a good day.

I would sell the k7 and keep the k5 and in fact, Did. There's world of difference between not always needing the DR performance and missing it, knowing you once had it, when you want it. The K7 is still going for a pretty fair price right now.

Nothing personal, and you may have reasons beyond what I see here.......but I am going to Bookmark this as one of those mysteries in life I don't understand? I have a long list of those....like my friend that is a strict vegetarian...but eats fish, because it contains no meat.
Best Regards!
