Stains found!

Had my K5 for about 3 weeks now slits past the 15 day exchange period.Got back from a two week trip from the Mayan Riviera and was looking at some shots of the sunrise on my PC and to my disappointment was a series of 5 small dots almost in the middle of the frame.Bought from London Drugs,I'll see what they say.Has anyone in the Vanouver area had to have this issue addressed under warranty.Just wondering how long it takes.

Shocking!

Serial no?
Did you take the steps to ensure it is indeed the infamous sensor stain?

Worst case, scenario, you'll have to send it in to get replaced.

Make sure you show us the photo of the stains- it's possible that it may just be dust, in which case you'd be in luck

Make sure you're not overreacting to dust on the sensor... Like others have said, please post pics so that we can analyze.

Here is a pic I took today of the sky then I cropped it in Pixel Peeper.Sorry about the quality,I'm new to this and was trying to figure out Photoshop Elements but will have to do more reading.I can try and post another pic of the sunrise if needed. It has the exact same pattern.

I'm no expert that's for sure, but it does look like sensor stain to me, what is the serial number?

That certainly looks like the "classic" sensor stain to me as well (I've had two K-5 bodies with stains in the past).

Take it back and make them exchange it. 15 day exchange policies are typically (in the USA anyway) for those who tend to buy and try.

It's a bit disturbing that the serial number starts with 4 and has this issue

I agree with Jeff. I would insist on an exchange under the circumstances. If all else fails and they refuse, I would send it back when it's the least inconvenient.

True, although it could be that whatever was causing the majority of the stain issue was resolved but that an occasion one slips through. I realize I am giving Pentax a huge benefit of the doubt here, but that's about all I can come up with. FWIW, my two stained bodies were 382xxxx and 386xxxx. My clean body was 396xxxx.
