So I am trying to take a star trail photo now... K-5, set to interval shooting. 30s exposure, 1 second interval. First time I did it it stopped after maybe 30 minutes. I resumed, now it stopped after maybe 7 minutes. That seems... ridiculous. Why would it do that? Interval shooting should be a very simple thing to implement, and if it has issues, to fix with a firmware update. Now I have to stand outside next to the camera for hours, instead of being able to sit in my car and trust the camera that it works...
Is there any trick to get it working reliably? Breaks are kind of a big issue with star trails...
Ah, I just found the other thread saying I should set it to 32s for 30s exposure times... I did that, but now I am afraid it won't work reliably...
Ok, wait. If I set it to 32 seconds, it will take a photo... 30 seconds later the photo is done, it will wait 32 seconds, and then take the next one. Absolutely not what I want!
With the setting at 3 seconds it seemed to work for a while... but eventually it stopped again. How could you guys get it to work reliably?
