I have shot hundreds of stories for travel magazines in my career, starting with Pentax film cameras, then the *istD, K10, K20, K7 and now K5. In one year (2004?), I shot 25 features for Sunset Magazine using the *istD, a 6MP body, and they never complained about the IQ. Bottom line is that unless you're a really dedicated sports or wildlife shooter and must have very long glass or very fast precise autofocus with that glass you don't need to switch to C or N. Both Getty and Corbis have long accepted my digital files shot with the K20D-K5, and they're much pickier than any newspaper photo editor should be. And the two lenses you mention are pro quality glass, coupled with the K-5 you should be fine. I could make a living with C or N or Olympus or Leica or about anything, but I simply prefer the size, weight, weather sealing, in body IS, and glass for the K-5 and it's predecessors. And I don't need Full Frame, as Pentax APS-C is very high quality. When I need more pixels, its time for the 645D to come out and play!

Just keep shooting,

Kerrick James
