I've been looking at field monitors and apparently the new Lilliput model has a true 1080p screen. Loads less than $900 too.
Any model#?
Nothing on their site has 1080p and their "news" area has an article from 2010

ok...w/ due respect, that is *not* a 1080p screen...it's not even a 720p screen :-P
The DP7 has an actual 1280x800 pixels, so it's 720p + some display info on the bottom or top. It can also take 1080p input and will rescale it down, but also has a 1:1 panning mode so you can look at everything in detail from your 1080p video...

It most importantly has focus peaking and false color. If you're doing HD video work, those two features are pretty critical IMHO...(I'm debating whether IRE limits are a critical feature as well..still researching :-)

Well if you have one and know from experience that's fine... the way their website reads is that it displays full HD 1920x1080. Now it could be lost in translation so to speak, but it doesn't say anything about being a pan or reduced mode.

Does anyone have one that can confirm their website is incorrect?

sure.we get what we paid for...that why they cost so much more.....
but if u just want a large view of what u r filming or perheps u r using crane u need a monitor to see what u are fiming at
I am sure a 100-200 range cheap montior can still work out....

Sorry, I'm just getting into this are and read the following:
"HDMI input Supports 1080p and 1080i, Compatible with Devices with HDMI or mini HDMI output such as Canon 5D mark II,Canon 7D,Nikon D300S and D3S and so on"

then I went back and read further, and dug further frankly, and read this:
"Resolution 800*480VGA RGB(800*480*3=1,152,000pixels)"

for their CL8 On-camera HD LCD Field monitor w/ 8″ screen

it is like a 720p hdtv..can still support 1080p bluray playback via hdmi cable..but the tv only shows in 720p resolution
same thing..u can still view ur camera 1080p video via hdmi cable on this monitor but the screen only show 800*480 resolution..

But again... "resolution" only means one thing... and they claim "Resolution: 800480, up to 19201080"

lol..they mean up to 1920x1080 input.

Here's the basic problem: there are *zero* LCDs that small 10" or below) w/ that high resolution. Nada. Zippo. No one makes 8" 1080p LCD panels that I know of. Maybe next year w/ the "retina display" tablets but nothing now. That's why you should read that w/ a big grain of salt and laugh at their marketing department

And that's why I'm impressed w/ the DP6...it's a real 720p (or 800p) 6" screen. I'll bet they're using the ones from portable bluray DVD players and I'm surprised Marshall isn't using the same kind unless they can't get the brightness or color rendition they want out of them. All the reviews I've dug up on the DP6 have been extremely positive.

But if you're using it for HDSLR video, look for focus peaking and false color. I'd consider these monitors toys w/o those features (and yes, that puts them up above $400-500 w/ those features)-:

Yeah, I think what differentiates the more pricey models from the not so pricey is the added functionality built into the unit. Not so pricey and you get a screen which will display, a bit more pricey and you get a screen which will display and a bunch of functions on the device that do things like peaking, assist focus, false colour, guides and so on.

How about the Ikan vl5

Looking for something that could do as a tiltable/flippable LCD screen, I found this field monitor which seem to be quite cheaper and still with a good build. Anybody ever tried it?
