Even cheaper at Vanbar - $1269. It is VERY VERY tempting at that price, I have to confess.
I was just about to share that. I bought mine from Vanbar a couple of months ago at that price.
My K-5 was a fair bit more expensive than what you guys are looking at though

And my 2c about the "K-3" - do you really think a new model is in the pipeline already? Normally they seem to be about 18 months apart, which gives quite a while before a successor for the K-5 is announced. I'd put my money on no flagship successor for the rest of the year personally...

Can get 3 year extended warranty for $250, K5+18 -135 wr lens for less that what Kennedy wants for the k5+18-55 wr, just waiting to hear about turn round on warranty work. If the K5 is anything like my IST DS, K10,K20 then I should not have a problem. Thing that Makes me Laugh is that I have cash Money. Looks as if they are not interested in Making sales. If the only thing that they can offer me is local warranty, for the price that they are charging looks as if we are paying for it.

there is also here Pentax K-5 Digital SLR Camera Body :: Pentax :: Digital SLR Cameras - eGlobaL Digital Cameras Online Store

which clearly states they are based in HK. Its even cheaper here than DWI !

Its funny that I did a search for HK price, the price these web are having is even cheaper than getting grey imports in HK itself.

Straight from CR Kennedy you mean? Or from Pentax? You think that will flow through to shop prices straight away or only once they clear existing stock?

I'm jumping on it the minute it drops to whatever this new price is, hopefully under $1,350.....
Straight from CRK - sorry for the confusion.

I've considered buying off eGlobal. There is a huge thread on whirlpool about them; they're legit and extremely fast.

Warranty is covered if you post it back to them too.

Hi there. As I said in an earlier post, I bought my K5 from eGlobal about a month ago for $1090+$65 postage+2% paypal/cc surcharge (no charge for bank deposit). I placed the order on Thursday got the camera on Monday so very quick postage (TNT courier if I remember correctly). 2 years seller warranty but you'll have to pay for the postage to them which I guess is somewhere between $50-80 registered. I stressed the camera quite a lot this month, no problems so far. Serial number is in 402**** range so no problem with sensor stains. I recommend them. Cheers.

P.S. I didn't have to pay any gst but you have to ask them about this subject before you place the order.
