Perhaps this should be in the K-5 forum.

Never done it myself but others around have sent their quotes to CRK themselves to price match for them. Retailers generally have fixed prices on their gear.

Contact directly CRK. They wil tell you if they can and how they propose to do it. They were helpful when I got my K-7 and might help you.

Personally, I think you might be hard pushed to better that price in Aus.
But be careful, buying overseas, being over $1000 Customs duty would be added in reaching here.

# Note I moved your thread to the K5 Forum, as this is a much more suitable place for your subject of discussion.

Note that CR Kennedy doesn't have a published policy regarding price-matching Pentax products, only that of Sigma products. I guess it doesn't hurt to try though.

If you manage to get CRK to price-match on K-5 bodies, pls remember to update this thread.

Thanks for all the replies, I have sent off emails to the various retailers. The price that I quoted was with p&H, tax included, so here is hoping.

T-dimension are selling the K5 for that price with 2yr warranty and postage. I have used them before great service and the warranty I used on a lumix few years ago new camera back in 10 days and they pay postage both ways.

I got a special deal on my Pentax K-5 and on the Sandisk Pro card (CRK are Australian agents for Sandisk) I ordered with it through CRK. Their attitude is that they want the money to stay in Australia and not be spent overseas. So it's worth giving them a call and remember to print out the web page you got that cheap price from

My understanding, cameras com into Australia duty free only GST is added over 1k
value.

Greetings

I've been looking into this myself (about importing)
Yes, anything over AU$1k will get slugged GST when it hits customs.
Also, CRKennedy wont do warranty work *without* the International Warranty SLip filled out by the Overseas supplier, and not all (especially eBay) sellers provide this. SO you could get caught with either a camera with no warranty, or having to send it back to the seller, overseas, if it ever were to break. And given the sensor stain issue with K-5's, I know I'd want a workable warranty before I hand over my hard-earned $'s...

Yep, that's correct, camera gear attract no duty, but anything over $1k attracts GST on the whole value, not just the portion over $1k.
I did a little write-up the other day on another thread here.
