K5 and UHS-I

Is there any chance that the K5 will be able to take a UHS-I card with a firmware update?

The write speed will only serve to make the burst better overall. It would seem that a firmware upgrade could handle it, but perhaps the hardware isnt up to it?

I doubt it. There was no profit in speeding things up going from SanDisk Extreme III (30MB/s) to PRO-UHS-I card. I think that current electronis cannot handle the amount of data to even max out the limits off writespeed possible with Extreme III cards.
