Sorry guys, I tried using my A 50f1.4 and K 135f2.5 at my niece wedding today and it was total disaster. Luckily I had my FA 31 Ltd with me and used it throughout. When I had my Canon 5D I had 12 mf lenses and nothing else and shot many weddings with them. The K5 metering, even with the FA 31 is a far cry to Canon's system even when I was using it with alternative lenses. The only consolation I get out of the K5 is the color rendition which I prefer to Canon's.

A50 just after the rain (love the slight blue tinge on the frangipani):

A50 again - good exposure even in a challenging situation (the camera could have quite easily got it wrong):

Ok.. Nicely done.

Here's a Spiratone 20mm f2.8 at about f5.6

I haven't done a lot of nature type shots with MF lenses other than flowers lately..

An A50 f1:1.2 got this one.

Something a little different. K28 f2.0

The whole point of course, and I think you and I both prove it, the K5 is more than capable of playing well with the manual lenses, of all flavors. Oh and by the way. The camera that took the last two with the K28 (in January), had a stained sensor. It was replaced in February. So even defective, the K5 still rocks.

Nice photos and many thanks for sharing. I have used both the A 50f1.4 and K 135f2.5 outdoors and indoors especially on my grandson and 2 cats and could master them as I have been using mf lenses since 1964. But shooting a wedding dinner under difficult lighting is a different ball game. I could manage it on my Canon 5D with my assortment of mf lenses but not the Pentax mf lenses on K5. Either I learn more about how to overcome the K5 inherent shortcomings, shoot only AF or switch back to Canon where I had more successes.
