I'm confused. You say you don't want to hurt her feelings about a gift that she bought you that turned out to be faulty, so to not hurt her feeling, you are using "her" giving you a faulty gift as a scapegoat for selling off completely unrelated gear that has no faults???

and

I thought You purchased that K-5.????

You state that You paid more than other places but You, didn't mind?????

I call shenanigans!!!

I said 'I purchased it, because 'I am the member' of this forum. She had initially gone to the store and bought the kit with the WR lens, but that had a serial number 2XXXXXXX. Maybe old batch, we went back and switched it for the body only, and paid $250 more than the Amazon price that day. I know the guys at BB, they are good and I want them to stay in business....

Or I just store the K5 for some time and forget about it for some time...??? I know sending the k5 for repair is an option.....but its a gift from my wife..I just dont want her to know it has issues..since I was all over K5 and when she asked me if I want 5D mark II, D700 or K5..I chose the K5...!!!!!
go full frame.

If that were my kit :

1. Repair the K5 (this isn't even a question - it's a no-brainer).
2. When the K5 returns sell the 7k and 7D (and Canon lenses) and buy a D700
3. Sell the pentax zooms and keep the primes !

+1 to this, though I would keep the WR pentax zooms.
