Strange is the option between firmware for K-5 and K-5 Silver. I think they are the same, but no idea. Both give in PhotoMe firmware version 1.10.23.13 so that should mean one and the same?

I am downloading the silver version and hope my k-5 become silver after I update the firmware.

Anyone find any update on manual video control?

Someone on the other forum said nothing changed on that.

Can anybody else confirm that this is an issue? I have no use for the GPS features, and if the firmware causes troubles, then I will avoid it.

I was hoping for a fix to the flash issues.

I just took four shots using a bounce flash and none of them came out overexposed. I'll keep playing around with the flash for a while to see if I can get some overexposures but so far it seems that the problem has been addressed.

Placebo Effect Reminder

It takes effect quickly but has a limited half life.

Please remember to get lots of images onto those cards quickly before it wears off and the effect is lost.

In my case, it's making all my horizons level without squinting into the viewfinder for the funky attitude indicator.

Now, if I could just find a horizon .......

Some Flash Examples using the new Firmware

I just rattled off a few shots of some of my wife's dolls using my AF-360 flash. Bounce was obtained using the Catchlight Panel on the flash because of an off white ceiling.

Other than resizing the only fix that I applied was autoexposure for each photo.

Seems to me that the problems that I have been experiencing with over exposure maybe fixed with this latest firmware.

Yeah, as far as I know there isn't an easy way to go backwards.

I'm all for early adopting (of the new firmware), but until they release it officially on both Pentax Japan and Pentax USA's site, I'd be a little nervous about installing it.

Well I just took a bunch of shots (16) of a number of different things in the house using my DA 16-45 my DA 18-135 and my DFA 100 Macro, loaded them into Photoshop and each and every shot is bang on for focus. I don't see any problems thus far with this firmware upgrade.

Ok, I will test the AF tomorrow...

Regarding the Remote Slave Metz 58AF2 overexposure... yes, it is overexposed but so far it was overexposing ***consistently*** which is not a big problem, I gave it 2 and 2/3 stops compensation and bounced and direct flash were OK for a number of shots. Or I am already comletely insane. I suspect I really am, but the slave-flash TTL exposures are much better now )) Before it was underexposing and overexposing - MADNESS!!!

Now I have to find out why I got few blurred shots and why the AF and LiveView-AF got it so differently while I was testing. I HOPE I AM REALLY STUPID TOO ))

im absolutely not happy.... flash problem hasent been solved for me, tried with metz so far - there is still overexposure - however the exposure at 80iso and higher iso differs.... at the first moment after upgrade i had impression that flash problem has been solved.... what a rush it turned out that i had exposure compensation set to -1.0.....
