chalk one up to another successful flash. couple of quick shots, and i readjusted my af fine tuning from +4 to +1 (quick non-scientific shots) for my da 18-135 lens.

*edit*
looks like it was just in my head, i'm back to +4 in af tuning.

Will be testing mine this arvo.
Interestingly, on the Pentax Japan website it mentions that the 1.10 contains an 'update for the 1.03 firmware'. There is no mention of correcting/updating P-TTL flash exposure performance. So how it has magically 'improved' P-TTL results is intriguing.

The update says "Correspond to GPS unit [O-GPS1]"

So is this an update that requires another piece of hardware, the O-GPS1 for astro-photography. Anybody seen one of these units yet? I realize it will do a few other simple things but I'm wondering what the real point of updating the firmware if no intent is there to use this device (as in my case). There is none. I think I'll be treating this update as an 'it ain't broke, don't fix it' type of thing.

When you read comments about the new firmware, you might want to glance at the person's post numbers and rep, there seems like some troll-like comments going on here by persons who registered within the last 24 hours. Just saying...odd.

More to the point, I've installed 1.10 and not seeing anything wrong with AF, in fact it seems snappier than usual. I used to have -4um AF fine tune in there for my Tamron 28-75 f2.8, but be warned, the new firmware seems to have wiped old AF finetuning settings.

In any case, AF with my Sig 10-20 and Tamy is excellent, even in fairly dim conditions. If anything, it seems faster - but that may be placebo effect

I've done both bounce and direct flash shots, and it is consistently underexposed by about 1 ev on my Metz48 with the ceiling bounce compared to the direct flash. Nothing i can't live with.

Updated mine, no noticable difference in performance.
Only difference I can see is the extra menu entry.

.
Possibly a result of having the availability of the firmware posted on the Pentaxforums Facebook site long before it was mentioned here and those who have liked that page but not been members here jumping in here to post feedback.

Impossible! We all know from the Giveaway Thread that FB and the like are entirely useless, do nothing to attract new members to the community, and is just there to harvest your email addresses for spam!

"*Contents of [Version 1.03] will be also updated."

could maybe in Japanised English mean that those things listed as updated on V1.03 has been further updated, that is:

"
Improved the accuracy of auto focus in low-intensity light condition."

"Improved stability for general performance."

EDIT: Just a theory.

Even in Japanaised English, this would mean that the content of the previous update is included here. The only thing which this firmware includes, that's the GPS support.
