so I got my K5 yesterday

after about two weeks of waiting, I got my K5 delivered yesterday
my first DSLR was K-x for the last year and a half, and I wanted something better, and there was a good price for K5+18-55WR, plus I ordered the 15/4 and Sandisc HD video 16 GB card
after painfull 4,5 hours of charging I went out to do some testing, in the afternoon and also in the evening
well, this really is a jaw dropping camera
while it is not much bigger than the K-x (I can still fit it in my Lowepro AW 160), everything about it is like a photog`s dream come true, the ease of use, the sound of the shutter and the mirror (is there any?) etc...
interesting thing - mine came with 1.01 version of the firmware so I deliberately tried the buffer and I could get 23 shots even so - at ISO 200 - funny
I updated then to 1.03
focus is mostly spot on with all of my AF lenses, just sometimes I feel that the 15/4 goes that little bit past infinity - will probably have to calibrate for this lens, just have to test it a bit more
the manual focusing is like a dream with LV and I tried the dynamic range - while it is not that much bigger than the K-x, the raw responds differently to PP in Lightroom - those 14 bits are really better, when pushing the fill light I dont get those nasty edges like from K-x
so far so good (second day ), I am enjoying this marvellous camera and would like to thank all kind people on this forum for sharing their positive and negative experiencies with K5, it was really helpful for me
good light to all !

I am planning to sell my K-x too to fund the 100/2,8 WR, and maybe next year will get the 300/4, then I will have the ultimate nature photo prime set

I have wondered whether to upgrade from my K-x to K-5 or not... read read, comparison... a LOT of research.
I just got my K-5 and wow... its incomparable. Not just IQ, in my opinion is way better, but the full aspect, what a camera! I totally recommend for those stuck on this question, like i was.

Mine is also finally arrive tomorrow.

After selling my k10D, a fraud purchase of a 1st K5 and 2 weeks without camera i'm anxious to finally get it. Already have the recommend 3rd party grip and spare batteries and all the gear that i had for k10D.

Let's see if it is easy to move to a smaller body, and quickly get used to the K5... i think it could be a little bigger.

few pics from yesterday and today, just test shots

the ISO 80 quality is tremendous and the 15/4 is a real slicer

Looking pretty good. The 15 is a very nice lens once you tame the flare (which isn't difficult to do).

few last words
played with AF adjustments yesterday with results: 15/4 is at +5, 35/2,8 is at +5, 18-55 WR is at -3 and the Sigma 70-300 didn`t need AF tuning
I can get now more accurate focus using phase detect than contrast with the DA 35/2,8, the contrast detect AF feels sort of too fast for this lens
the indirect flash overexposure is there even with newest firmware upgrade of the flash, I would dial -0,7 for flash in camera and -1,0 EV on the flash and -0,3 EV compensation in Av, then it looks fine
direct flash exposure is very accurate
didn`t test the AF with various light source temperature yet
I also added few pics into the gallery from today morning
bless ya all
