Self Timer

I need to take pictures today with the self timer, and was wondering if 12 seconds is the longest I have to get back in front of the camera? Or is there another way.

You can use an IF-Remotecontrol or you can misuse the Interval-shooting possibilty by set the Number of picture counter to two and set a suitable time to start.
