The red and yellow tones in the second one looks to me more like k-5.
But I hope I'm wrong...

I would like to think the top is the K5, especially looking at the plain pale fawn material (at 8 oclock position). Big difference there.

But I will take odds that the bottom ends up to be K5.

I guess the first one is from k-5 since it retains more details and the color looks more like from Pentax.

Hello again Pentaxians, the answer is of course:

EXHIBIT A: K-5
EXHIBIT B:
Canon T3i 600D

Both images where processed with Raw Therapee and Photoshop.
Thanks for playing

I'm going to compile the observations of each member and post the results.
I think it will help motivate others to look past the resolution aspect of camera's and seek to meet the performance aspects of each system instead.

I didn't have a guess, but there is no doubt, but that the top photo looks better - more accurate colors and more detail.

I could not guarantee my choice at first, but I remember Canon tends to get the color red a bit over the top and smudges the details.

Pentax might look flat but it retains details that we should be seeing

As we have always experienced, Pentax always underexposes.
This always preserves the details more during processing.
Over-exposing or without underexposing, highlight details might get clipped..I guess.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Impressive test, but I am not surprised, and don't really do much comparison among other brands.....the K5 is what it is, and if you have one, you are already impressed, and most likely your needs are completely fulfilled. No need to compare, just go out and shoot and enjoy!

OK Otis....you can type a few words, since you are impatiently jumping around wanting to have your say here.....

As a handsome Squirrel, I find it disturbing that tests here are most often performed using items of little or no aesthetic value. The world is full (and growing rapidly) of handsome Squirrels of all shapes, colors, and sizes.....from most every nation on earth. It is ridiculous to shoot these ugly objects for testing when an aspiring Squirrel Model is ready and waiting to take the stage and help a fellow Pentaxian. In the future, please try to use a handsome Squirrel....and a small donation of a 50 lb bag of exotic nuts would also be appreciated.
Otis Squirrel

Best Regards!
Rupert

This one is ready and willing, if any of you need a model.....

I was actually going to say that the bottom picture was from the K-5 because that's my experience with how my Pentax cameras render red and yellow.

Nice to see if I ever learn how to use the darn thing I can get colours like that too!
