multiple shots with self-timer

You put the camera on the tripod, set the 12 second self-timer, race back to join the group, the photo is taken. You look at it, and someone is not looking good.

Is there a way to have the self-timer take several shots to increase to odds of the group looking good?

buy the wireless remote? with a 2 sec delay so you can reposition your hand. snap away.

if you have a wired cable release with a lock, i am thinking you could set the camera for [12sec]timer and then lock the button down...am assuming it would then shoot every 12 sec. i've not tried this.

Well you could play with bracketing and extended bracketing (with bracketing option set to one push) You could obtain a maximum of 15 shots.

Best answer IMO

Leaves everyone free to relax and adopt a few different poses.
