Jason, took the 6x7 400 out today, will post pics when I get around to updating my website, next day or so.
Nailing focus @ f4 seriously touchy and on the K5 a tendency to under expose which doesn't help with closest focussing distance @ 8 metres. Colours are quite yummy and a pleasant bokeh. At 2+kg manageable hand held. For the difference if f stops and closer focussing I think my A 400 plays more nicely especially when chasing those little birds that you might be able to get closer to.
A sunny day tomorrow says I might get better conditions for a decent shakedown.
The female bayonet on the 6x7 feels a bit precarious with the adapter I'm using also.

I think this thread belongs more to the K-5 forum, so I have moved it there, but I have left a permanent redirection from the SLR lenses section.

That being said, I think it is a very relevant subject for a thread. I have made the same observations. The possibility to use higher iso than before makes it much easier to use modestly fast tele lenses. The high image quality of the K-5 sensor leaves you more dynamic range and details to work on in the post processing. The same applies to macro work (on moving subjects especially). I find that I am not that dependent any longer on the macro-ring-flash to get good quality shots on butterflies etc. Instead I can pop up the iso to levels that would have looked terrible on the K20D or the K-7. I'll try to post some examples later.
