So it would seem that the control dial on the rear of my K5 has suddenly simply stopped working. I cannot adjust ISO, aperture, zoom in/out of photo's, etc...

It just happened overnight with no trauma preceding it...

Has anyone experienced this? Is there anyway to further diagnose it? Or possibly to fix it???

...what mode are you set on?

Could be the K-r grease issue I suppose. They are fixing theirs with a shot of contact cleaner.

Doesn't work in any mode... nor even during playback to zoom in/out...

move it for a few minutes, it might grease the contacts again

You won't void the waranty if you spray a touch of electrical component contact cleaner above and below the dial. It evaporates. You should check the K-r threads about it. The problem is too much grease upon assembly. The grease isn't a conductor. If it was it would probably short out the functions.
