Mine has started doing it. First I get a stained body, the second one flops its mirror, what a joke. And still I have to pay $40 in postage/insurance to return the thing...

Might have to have a chat with Fait Trading and see if I can get my $1600 back then go back to my reliable DS... or not...(damn, why does the K-5 have to be so good at everything else it does.....)

WOW, with all the potential issues with the K5, it looks to me to be extremely foolish to purchase one without the extended warranty!

Or, why should a camera this expensive have all these (potential) problems, which is convincing me to simply not get one.

I think Pentax should put out a notice about this issue.. come clean, admit the problem exists and specify what steps are taken to repair the issue.

If a certain run of K5s have this issue then let us know the serial numbers.

The repair on my K5 is holding up after a month now. Hope it will not be a recurring problem.

Send it in, get it repaired... it will not get better with time, it gets worse.

Worse thing is today I have taken a couple of hundred photos and not once did it flop. I recharged my battery last night to see if it made it worse. So frustrating, I don't live in a capital city so have to post it and be without it for possibly weeks.... For maybe a 'can't replicate the issue' return...
