I worked for a company that made "limited edition collectibles" and would advertise with prototypes... then they'd only go into production when they got 15,000 orders or more. If they had fewer than that, they'd send out 14,000 responses of "sorry, but due to the limited nature of this product, your order cannot be fulfilled!"
It was/is a $2
billion a year company! So many suckers out there...
