8G is as high as I go. Less danger, and loads faster on my computer. Several of them are enough to get one days Squirrel shots.....if it is a light day.

Even if you have formatted the card, as long as you have not saved new images to it, you should be able to recover. When this happened to me I used:

Free Scan

You can download the software for free. While in the free (Demo) mode, the software will allow you to scan the card and it will show preview of what images can be recovered. If you decided to go ahead and recover you have to purchase the license... Good thing it is only $49 ($39 right now on sale).

8G Card

I had the same thing happen to my 8g card about a week ago. Took numerous photos and they didn't save down. So, size might not matter. It was a LEXAR card.
