Is there a "T" mode? I can't find it...

I want to do some long exposures and I'd like to lock the shutter open for a while. Is there a T mode or just Bulb?

If there IS just bulb, how does one go about making extended exposures?

Thanks!

there is only a Bulb setting : B mode on the mode selection dial.

To use it, you need either a IR remote control or an electronic cabled shutter release, without either of them you are limited to 30 second exposures in manual mode...that or you can mount the camera on a tripod and physically hold the shutter button down however I would advise against this, because it would most likely cause unwanted vibrations wrecking your images.

incidentally, the Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch remote* can be used - if you happen to have one lying around.

The T setting is more commonly seen on large format camera systems these days.

*not to be confused with the Canon RS-80N3 Remote Switch which is incompatible.

You can set the B mode to behave as a T mode but a remote Is required. In fact, the camera is set that way as a default. The remotes are dirt cheap. I think I paid $5 shipped for mine that is similar to the one pointed out above. It is a locking remote however so 'T' isn't really required for long exposures. That setting of the B mode is more useful for the IR remote when you don't want to stand and hold the button.
