Focus Screen Size for DIY

I'm finding in spite of all my accolades about catch in focus, I would like to have a split prism focusing screen. I don't fancy the idea of paying $100+ for one and don't care to wait the apparent month for one to come from China. So I've decided to try and cut my own. Can somebody tell me the exact dimensions (LxW) of the K5/K7 focus screen? I don't want to scratch my stock screen using it as a template. Please, no responses telling me just to buy one. Not an option at this point.

On another note or possibility, I have a Katzeye for a K10/K20. Does anyone know if I cut off the alignment tab, would the screen Fit the K5?

Well, I'll be slightly going out-topic here, but you should consider getting a Canon ee-S screen instead of the split screen... It's a blank screen, but it's accurate down to f/1.4, whereas other screens are limited to f/2 (at best)... You even get two neat features freely with it : Stop-down metering will be linear (cool with legacy lenses!), and DoF preview will really work (it's a joke with the stock screen, compare a f/1.4 picture with what you see in the viewfinder!).

Focusing is really easy with it, thanks to the accurate rendering of DoF, and I find the blank screen a real joy to concentrate on composition.

Here is a thread I made about it : Canon EE-S focus screen on a K5
