Surely the best way to determine what magnification is 1:1 is to look at the real thing and look at the live view and if they are about the same size then you've got 1:1
That would only be correct if
  1. The lens achieved 1:1 magnification, and
  2. The rear LCD display had the same size as the sensor (it doesn't).
User jerm1386 explained it correctly.

..... and isn't an LV magnification factor for 1:1 giong to change depending on the fiocal length of the lens attached?
Maybe the best trick to do is to make a jpg image with photoshop, with the exact dimensions of the K*5 16mpx images, drawing a 640x480px rectangle at the center of the image, import that image on a SD-card, then, read it with the Pentax screen to check the magnification. I've tried, but i cannot read the jpg file with the camera. It's surely a question of compression rate or methode, i'll try other combinations.

Yeah sorry my bad. I was thinking in terms of 1:1 to real life, rather than the OP's question about 1:1 pixel wise.
