And the law doesn't want vigilante justice.. but I'm sure if I found a guy who jacked my gear it would be the last they saw of them.. Wow!
Time to take all my serial numbers down again and maybe even post them in my account info..

Yesterday a thread was started in the Pentax DSLR Discussion forum
titled Stolen Kit by someone who also had his gear stolen. Some of the
suggestions there may help you.
Also check out a thread in General Talk forum
that is titled "Stolen Camera Finder".
Good luck and I hope all turns out well - especially the wedding shoot.

I see you too are from NJ.
Care to share with us where and how the theft occurred?
It may help one of us to know what the current "hot spot" is.
Again, good luck.

I wouldn't feel good, that's for sure. I do currently have a personal articles policy on most of my equipment though (not to say it would be easy to get the insurance company to pay for 5 lenses + body + flash). A silver K-5 couldn't really be replaced though...

Get your serial numbers from boxes or paperwork (receipts) and file stolen property with city PD and also County Sheriff's Office. You would be surprised how much stuff they find and there is nobody to claim it. Have silver K-5 myself, near impossible to replace by now... Good luck!

Hope it works out for you, man.
It's a sickening feeling to have a prized possession get pilfered from you.
All the best in finding it, but if you don't move on and consider insurance.

Hope everything works out.

Jeeze, that's the worst. Keep your eyes peeled on Craigslist. Also, is there a chance that your homeowner's insurance will cover it?

That is a sickening story....I feel heartbroken for you....I would have to accept the jail time if I found the culprit, because there would be jail time.....if they ever found the body.

Can you tell us more, how it happened, and where? It might help locate the sorry-dog thief.

Meanwhile, Otis will have his million man Army keep an eye out, and search high and low....

Regards & Good luck on your recovery. Keep us posted.

Yes, please explain how it was stolen? Left in the car? From your home?
I'm in MD, I'll keep my eyes on craigslist here too.
Also, for those in similar situations, type craigslist searcher in google, it lets you search all craigslist ads all over the country. In this situation, type k5 silver, see what pops up...

On the bright side, a K-5 Silver can be found back I think! Only 1500 in production and maybe 100 or so in USA. Keep checking ebay and sides!

Good luck on that.

I had my entire bag stolen a few years ago as well down in San Fran. My girlfriend and I drove down from Portland late one night after shooting a wedding reception. We stopped at the motel to check in, then headed out to check out the town and take some shots. We were away from here car for no more than 15 minutes getting a slice of pizza, came back and the window was busted out….everything gone. Luckily I had removed all of the SD cards from reception out of the body/bag. Losing someones memories would be much worse that the equipment. I drove around for nearly an hour looking for someone with my bag, ready to give them a whoopin.

I got the equipment covered through my girlfriends car insurance, with help from a very crafty agent. I hope you get your gear covered one way or the other.
