Lens for indoor photography

Any recommendations on lens for primarily to shoot indoor activity such as concerts, sports but the same can be used for outdoor telephoto shooting? I am looking at Pentax DA 50-135 f/2.8 and Tamron AF 70-200 f/2.8. I will be using the lens with K-5. I already have a Pentax FA 50mm f/1.4 and looking for a lens with zoom/telephoto option.

Thanks in advance

if you can, try getting a sigma 50-150, its like the 50-135 with faster AF but no weathersealing (not like it can rain indoors anyhow)

The Tamron 70-200 is a dream lens of mine, but it is gigantic.

The Pentax is half the size of the Tamron.
Pentax is wider, Tamron is longer. I find myself using the wider end and then sometimes cropping to get some nice shots. Especially on the K5. I think most people would consider the image quality of the Pentax to be superb. I have used the Tamron just for a single day, not enough to judge image quality; I just did not want to carry the large lens...Not a big deal for some people

It appears that indoor sports and concerts are your needs more than outdoor ones. I think it depends on how close you are able to get to the activity you are shooting. I am not a big person and the 50-135 is about all I can carry. Even it gets heavy after a while...I tried a monopod, but I am not a professional and even a monopod gets in the way when you have to manouver around people to get shots.

I use the 50-135 for concerts, it's a great lens and I'm happy with the results but maybe a top end of 135 is a little short for some photogs.

Maybe a DA^ 60-250 f4 would be an option. It is an f4 but the K5 can be upped in ISO quite a bit.

I've ordered a Sigma 30mm f/1.4.
