Normally, I don't buy until the next model comes out, but I agree this price is more attractive.

Just opened the package and put the batt on the charger. My goodness, this doesn't seem all that much bigger than the K-x.
This will be fun!

I walked into my local camera store a few months ago when I bought a flash and decided to fawn over the k5. I took out my kx and held them next to each other, and their dimensions are very similar. But man, as soon as I picked up the k5 I immediately appreciated the difference. I just ordered one myself, hopefully I'll get it this week.

Well I've used my new camera now for a few times, and it is very good. But it is to soon to draw conclusion's since I only took 3.000 pictures with it.

Unless you want to start a museum, you could also just sell that old stuff!

I've got a pretty good start for a museum, going back a few decades.

Just put in an order to get a new black K-5! It wil arrive tomorrow, when I'm home ontime to meet the postalguy. This is to replace my black K-5 and will be my fourth K-5 (K-5 (with stains), K-5 as second body, K-5 Silver (to replace my stains) and now K-5 to replace my second black body.

I sold my black body, shuttercount 53675, found a good price for it and the new one is a steel at the time. So this is for me like making math! I don't expect K-3 this year, so we are probably talking about spring. This new body is by then stil in good shape and I can sell it easy. I just invested a small amount to take the K-5 Black lifespan (for me three different body's) to 18 months of use (november 2010 - may 2012) and not having any problems with the amount of actuations on my camera.

Still, it is brand new tomorrow
So this went quickly. I sold this K-5 and going to the postoffice to send it to the new owner. The shuttercount is 53180 and going to order a new K-5 tomorrow. This will be my 5th K-5 (but I still have my K-5 Silver) and 4th black one. This is going to be my last K-5 I think. So Pentax should make a new camera for me. I'm now done with K-5.

Again I got a good price on it and a new one is just 10 euro's more expensive then the last one. Again a little investment to get me true to PhotoKina in september. I now spend just 30 euro's more on replacing my camera's then it would cost to replace the shutter. I'm now wel over 120.000 pictures with the K-5's in black, so that shutter could have died when I didn't upgraded every now and then. I did descide to keep the K-5 Silver and when nescesarie I will replace the shutter of that camera.
