Camera setting retention.

After removing a battery from a K5, how long will it retain it's settings?

There's an internal battery that will keep the info alive. Once that goes dead, it will not. I've never had one drain to that point.

I just put a battery in my old K20D that I haven't used for at least 6 months, it seems to have retained the settings since then without a battery installed.

I lose the aperture and shutter speed settings on my K-5 when I swap out the battery, but I assume the other settings are retained for a very long time (as long as the internal battery is heathly). So hopefully that means I won't have to redo all that settings when it comes back from the repair shop.
