Does instant review ever turn off?

How do I turn instant review off? This pissed me off with the K7 and now with the K5. I turn it off through the menu but it is still there. The minute I take a picture I want to be be able to start adjusting the settings for the next. However, whether off or on right after you take a picture then turn the back wheel instead of changing the aperture it is zooming in on the image. I don't want to take my eye from the viewfinder to find that Pentax thinks I always want to see my picture. No, I don't want to miss the next shot. Make it stop, help!

Rec menu 5, instant preview you can set the display time off, and the enlarge off. Works here, version 1.11.

If you cycle the info button it gets to a point where nothing is displayed on the screen.

Page 296 of the manual tells you how you can turn it off. You can get a PDF of the manual here:

I have it turned off on my K-r.
