Airport Scanners

Hi All, just want to be sure that airport scanners won't damage my K5, and sd cards. Thanks.

A radio receiver shouldn't screw anything up, I don't think.

It's just an x-ray of some sort. They never hurt my cameras (or even film for that matter). It probably goes without saying - but I'll mention it anyway just in case: Do not put any camera gear in your checked bags. Carry it all on the plane with you.

Yes I would never check any of my gear. Thanks for the info.

Just to add, I have taken my cameras and SD cards through both domestic and international airport security scans hundreds of times with no ill effects.

Between my K100 and K20, they both have been through quite a few times - on business trips. Nothing to worry about.

Never in the past 12 years as a digital camera owner has an airport security scan ever damaged my camera or sd cards.

I do not know if it has anything to do with the airport scanners, but it happened twice that after landing (Agadir, and Malaga as well) when I started to shoot, the K20d gave 'card error' as a massage, formatting (again) helped. But all my cards were formatted before I left!
Also, it happened that, once back home, two of the eight SD cards could not be read anymore (the other six where OK), luckily I always back-up the cards on my laptop before engaging a flight.
The cards are all Sandisk Ultra 8GB, and they are kept in my hand luggage as well as my cameras, I still wonder what happened, any ideas?

As a side note, once, after one of the flights to Agadir, my Blackberry got all messed up, I had to reset it by taking out the battery. I use it as an MP3 player on the plain (it worked well) and switch off the network connections, the use of cellphones as such are prohibited during the flight.
