D3s is bigger than K-5 :-)

I don't mean for this to be a serious comparison, but the difference in size is jaw dropping. It gave me a kick, and I thought others might be entertained by it.

The image is from Compare camera dimensions side by side.

Regarding the Compare camera dimensions side by side site, I don't think that dimension and weight comparisons tell the whole story. For one example, I have an Oly E-620 with a 25mm pancake lens. That kit weighs 595 grams, and yet it is much less comfortable to carry one handed than the K100D with the FA 35mm f/2 lens that I owned several years ago. The K100D and lens weighed 264 grams more, at 859 grams, but had a better grip. (The K-5 with the 35mm f/2.4 actually weighs close to the same amount: 865 grams.)

That is a fun side. Just put Q next to 1Dx and be surprized.

How about a K-5 + grip?
Might be a better match

I'm well aware of the size difference, as my best mate shoots with the D3s. When we are birding, though, it doesn't look that over-sized when attached to his Nikon 300mm f2.8 G ED VR II, not that I'm jealous of that lens.

How about $1,100.00 vs $5,299.00

That's the comparison I like most!

It's definitely oversized on the z dimension, but when I was reviewing it for comparison with the 645d, it was extremely easy to hold, especially for verticals. Pentax should at least try to make a larger camera- maybe it'll wake up the pros.

I've checked, K5+grip is still a lot smaller!

Good for Pentax! I sooo like that my K-5 camera fits my hand and looks more discreet than that brick besides it ehehehe

That looks funny:

But nothing to compare at all.

Olympus did a real good job on that new Pen mini. So pitty that they go out of bussiness.

Wait till you fit the Nikkor 24-70 zoom f2.8 on the D3....

Beautiful and awesome machine but it will be staying in my backpack more often just for its bulk and weight.....

That's why i have a K5....
