Just ordered from Adorama, need advice

Adorama's price for the K-5 is now $999.95. I just ordered the camera, an 18-135 lens, a 35 f/2.4 lens, and the Pentax extended warranty. Shipping was free for all of the items except the 18-135. That was $12 to ship. I will buy other lenses later, but I haven't decided which one to get first.

How would you test a new K-5 to make sure that it is OK? I'd like to check it out before the return period expires.

Jeff

Take a picture of the sky at a small aperture and check for stains. Also, upgrade the firmware and verify that the electronic level isn't off.

I understood it was not an issue since early this year, but i guess it's better safe than sorry

Should I test the AF? Would one of these be worth getting for an initial check and for calibrating lenses later?

those certainly look like good calibration tools, though i've seen many cheaper ones. ( a good large white plastic ruler with larger print can be used for that matter)
they sure aren't cheap
there are also free ones you can download and make yourself

Thanks. That looks good, and it's sure a lot cheaper.
