Welcome new K-5 owners!

Just wanted to extend a warm welcome to all the new K-5 owners thanks to the Cyber Monday/Tuesday deal! Wish I could have paid that price when I got mine...

Thanks, Adam, please wish me luck because after a lot of hesitation, I've decided to give it a go at last.

Although I've been quite happy with my K20D/K200D that I currently own, as well as the K-7 that I briefly owned -- all of them more than meet my needs -- I still decided that I just wanted to see what all this hoopla was all about based on the raves from all those fanatics that seem to harbor this place

Looking forward to getting my K-5... ordered it early this morning from B&H and it might be delivered as early as tomorrow. ) It will be taking the place of my K-10D, which has and continues to serve me flawlessly, but I figured it was finally the time to make the upgrade.

Thanks, Dan. And may I borrow your DA15 for a weekend after I receive the K-5? I am interested in adding that to my lenses but would like to try it first

Absolutely, you can borrow whatever you like... or perhaps more accurately, whatever I have left

Just shoot me a PM or text me.

I purchased mine a few months ago with 18-55mm kit lens from Amazon for $727.

Yes, welcome to all of the new K-5 owners!

After owning a k-x for just over a year, gathering a couple older pentax film cameras along with the old manual focus lenses, I too have joined the k-5 club. Looking forward to delivery later this week!

Thanks, Adam! I finally decided to go for the K-5 after a great deal of research. I was going to wait for the next generation since I have the K-x which isn't bad at all. However, I got to thinking about what the price point on the newer model might be and the rest is history

Hey Adam.

I came close, but no cigar. No regrets. I will look at Amazon to see if they go below $1,199.

Got the K-5 today.

I am a long time Olympus shooter who has sent all of that gear to Adorams for sale. I kept the Pen E-P3 and will rebuild with Pentax.

I got the K-5 body, but avoided the kit lens for the DA 18-135.

I have a question about this dust image on the sensor that the camera captured. Looks horrible but I dont' know what I am looking at to evaluate it properly. I need to figure how to post the dust image jpg.

I made the jump from the K10d to the K5 as well. The K10 was/is a great camera, 5 years of backpacking, snow shoeing, getting drenched under waterfalls, and holding up to long days shooting weddings...never skipped a beat. Now enjoying what the K5 has to offer, which is a lot. I sold one of my K10d bodies...might just have to hold on to the other Enjoy!!!!

Thanks Adam. I was holding out for quite a while but seeing the price dip to under $1000 was the nudge I needed. No regrets waiting though. I made some needed lens purchases in the past year and I'm looking forward to seeing what my DA 40 and DA 15 are going to do on the K5.
